Sein Yun

Sein Yun is a freshman at Orange County School of the Arts. She began her violin studies at the age of 8. She has won multiple competitions throughout the years including 1st place in American Strings Teachers Association (ASTA) , Southwestern Youth Music Festival (SYMF), Musical Arts Competition of Orange County, OCKCC Competition, Satori Strings Competition, and the Korea Times Music Competition. Sein has performed concerto with the Southern California Philharmonic as the winner of the 2019 Young Artist Concerto Competition. She also won 1st place in the Golden Era of Romantic Music International Competition and will debut at Carnegie Hall in June  2019.  Sein was a concertmaster of Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings. Currently she is a member of Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra and a principle of OCSA Symphony Orchestra. She is also selected as a member of the National Honor Orchestra of America 2019. Sein has performed with many chamber groups such as string quartet and piano trios. In Junior Chamber Music, she was selected as an honors performer and joined the Honor Tour to Europe 2018. Sein is very active not only as a performer but as a community server.  She loves to share her musical talent with young children of low income families through the non-profit organization Love-in-Music, raise the fund for Fairview Developmental Center, and as a member of Smile Train she helps children with untreated clefts.

Annabelle Park is a 14 year-old freshman attending the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). She was introduced to the oboe by her mother's friend, Young Jy Park, who is the oboe instructor for the Korean American Youth Symphony. Annabelle started playing at eight under Young Jy Park's instruction and, since 2014, she has been playing with the Korean American Youth Symphony (KAYS - 9th season). At her previous school, La Paz Intermediate, Annabelle has played in both the Intermediate and Advanced Bands under the instruction of Dan Robbins. At La Paz, she received the La Paz Intermediate School Most Outstanding Player award in 7th grade and the La Paz Intermediate School Director's award in 8th grade. Recently, she has been furthering her oboe studies under Victoria Lee and holds the position of principal oboist with the Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble (PSYWE) as well as the Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) Orchestra. She has played in the orchestra for the California Music Educators Association All-State Honor Ensemble (All-State) and has featured as a soloist in KAYS as a freshman.

Alyssa Sato

Fifteen-year-old Alyssa Sato is a freshman at the Orange County School of the Arts. Alyssa has studied under Mrs. Erica Powell since age 9. She was the principal harpist of OCSA’s Junior Strings orchestra and is currently the harpist for the school’s Concert Orchestra. She will be the principal harpist of OCSA’s Symphony orchestra in the 2019-2020 school year. She has participated in several masterclasses and has performed in chamber duos and trios. Additionally, Alyssa enjoys performing for others, such as dancing at local events as a competitive hula dancer and playing the harp in receptions, parties, and local senior centers.

Rachel Kim, 15, is a sophomore at University High School. She is currently studying with Iryna Krechkovsky. When she was 4 years old, she fell in love with the violin and started taking lessons at the age of 5. Since then, Rachel has won numerous awards, including first place at Satori Strings Competition, first and second place at SYMF, and third place at Bellflower Young Artists’ Concerto Competition. She was invited to play as a soloist with the Bellflower Symphony Orchestra. Rachel has participated in orchestras since she was 9 years old including Prelude Chamber Strings, Irvine Unified School District Honor Orchestra, Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings, and is currently in Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra under the direction of Roger Kalia. Rachel was privileged to be concertmaster at her school orchestras and Santiago Strings. She also played in chamber groups such as the Pacific Symphony Youth Quartet and Junior Chamber Music. Rachel was honored to have been chosen for a master class with world-renowned violinist Ray Chen. Outside of violin, she enjoys making music with her family, reading, and traveling.

Choi, Sol

Sol Choi, 15, is currently a sophomore at University High School in Irvine, California. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, and moved to sunny California when he was 4 years old. His interest in music began at a young age through singing along with the Teletubbies theme song when he was just two years old, and gradually evolved into a passion for playing the piano, and later the viola. Sol currently studies the viola under Michael Chang. 
Sol was the principal violist for the middle school 2017 and 2018 All Southern Honor Orchestra, and was a first stand violist for the high school 2019 All Southern Honor Orchestra. Sol has also taken part in the California CODA All State Honor Orchestra and has served many years as a violist in the Irvine Honor Orchestra. He was the co-principal violist for the Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings and currently is the co-principal violist in the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra (PSYO), which is set to tour Vienna and Prague in summer 2020.  Outside of music, Sol enjoys art and is particularly intrigued with history, politics, and sociology. Most importantly, he loves to eat good food. Sol is excited to be a part of the Back to Bach Project.

Amy Palm

Amy Palm, 15, is a sophomore at Irvine High School and started playing the cello when she was 9. She currently studies with Lila Yang.
Amy has won numerous first and second place awards from the Diamond Bar Performing Arts Contest, Satori Strings Contest, and SYMF. 
She has also played in many selective orchestras, such as the Irvine Unified School District Honor Orchestras, SCSBOA All-Southern Honor Orchestra, California All-State Orchestra, and Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings. Amy served as the All Southern Honor Orchestra's principal cellist for two years. She currently plays in the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra. She is also involved in her school's Koncerts 4 Kause organization, which strives to provide seniors with memorable musical experiences, and provide for the underprivileged through service projects.

Max Wang is a junior participating in the instrumental music program at Orange County School of the Arts. He has participated in Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings and is now currently a member of Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra.
